Job Summary: The Pit Lead ensures customer service and preserves the integrity of the games by dealing a standardized, smooth, and mechanically efficient game and providing a pleasant and professional environment for guests while dealing. When performing Floor responsibilities, the Pit Lead effectively assists Pit Floor Team Members dealing in his or her respective area and providing a pleasant and professional environment for guests and other Team Members when situations become difficult. The Pit Lead will work in the high stakes area during all flooring shifts.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
- Must be able to deal all Pit games according to established policy and procedure.
- Controls game action and players.
- Ensures games are dealt and collections/rakes taken in agreement with Card Room policies and procedures.
- Set an example of a strong floor to other Pit Floor Team Members while flooring in the high stakes pit.
- Understands, respectfully enforces, and follows Pit policies and procedures.
- Must know and adhere to all game protection policies.
- Must be knowledgeable and up to date on all current Card Room promotions.
- When performing Floor responsibilities in high stakes, the Pit Lead is required to:
- Maintain visual presence on the Card Room floor. Must remain in assigned section until relieved by another supervisor.
- Must walk section continuously watching assigned tables.
- Open and close games.
- Keep track of buy-ins, rating the player, tray count, etc.
- Render impartial decisions in the event of disagreements between players or between players and dealers, using all available means.
- Communicate to Pit Manager any irregularities or discrepancies that occur on a table or with a guest.
- Meet attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures.
- Sort and verify decks after they have been removed from live games.
- Ensure cleanliness of the Card Room by assisting with brushing tables, pushing in chairs, and throwing away garbage.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred or demonstrated ability to deal all varieties of approved Pit games.
Physical, intellectual and environmental conditions:
- Ability to handle stressful conditions with customers and employees while dealing or flooring.
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times while dealing or flooring.
- Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods while flooring.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while dealing.
- Must be able to repetitively bend, twist, and reach.
- Must have high patience level to be able to coach individuals who may not have had exposure to the card room industry previously while in flooring position.
- Must be able to handle difficult customers and employees.
