Job description
Embark on a fulfilling healthcare career with the College of Dentistry's Endodontics department! You will drive excellence in clinical operations by directing, organizing, and reviewing departmental functions to ensure a seamless patient experience. Responsibilities:
Clinic Operations:
· Supervise 5 Dental Assistants, handle recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
· Conduct monthly meetings to ensure patient care standards are met.
· Manage clinic schedules, assign assistants, and collaborate with on faculty and resident schedules.
· Answer patient questions, handle escalations, and coordinate services for patients.
· Review and complete Axium entries, implement productivity improvements, and perform research assignments as needed.
Student Maintenance:
· Monitor student progress, handle ICON for appointments and grades, and support educational initiatives.
· Liaise between students, patients, and staff for conflict resolution.
· Coordinate events, attend meetings, and collaborate with vendors for educational initiatives.
Additional Duties:
· Enforce infection control procedures, collaborate on equipment procurement, and ensure technology compliance.
· Manage inventory, procurement, and reconciliation of clinical supplies.
· Manage records for case requirements, coordinate clinic operations, and handle inventory for educational courses.
Salary: $57, 314 to commensurate (Pay Grade: 4A)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
May require occasional overtime.

Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
· Successful completion of a CODA accredited dental assistance program or one-year full time equivalency in chairside assistant experience assisting in four-handed method of dentistry.
· Current DANB Dental Assistant Certification.
· Current certificate of registration to practice as a dental assistant issued by the Iowa Board of Dental Examiners. Current Iowa certificate Proficiency in dental radiography. (QDA)
· Administrative Supervisory Experience to include performance management.
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
· Proficiency in calendaring, spreadsheets, and word processing (i.e. Microsoft or Google).
· Experience using electronic health records.
· Excellent customer service skills
· Experience utilizing active conflict management/resolution skills and de-escalation techniques.
· Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
· Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
