Job description

Overview:
The School of Nursing is seeking an electronic computer operator II (ECO II) to support the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Resource Center (NRC). Under the supervision of the Director of the Nursing Resource Center, this position organizes and collaborates in the creation of the simulation lab schedules for over 1500 student visits to the SIM lab each semester. This essential role to schedules students for supplemental instruction per course requirements, simulation lab schedules, clinical skills testing, as well as assist with scheduling the ATI NCLEX Review Course, and the ATI testing schedule. The ECO II is responsible for the input, correction, and disbursement in multiple internal and external electronic computer databases, including ATI, maintains medical supply inventory, and supervises student's work in the computer lab.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in electronic data processing work and scheduling (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below (C) previous health care or scheduling experience preferred.

Substitutions:

  1. An Associate's degree or higher with a major in the field of data processing may be substituted for one year of the required experience.*
  2. Previous health care or scheduling experience in the medical field is preferred.

*Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience using various software applications and databases such as Microsoft Office Suite, Canvas, PeopleSoft, and ATI computer program database.
  2. Ability to analyze complex records and information, prepare reports from such records as requested by the Associate Dean of the SON and Director of the NRC.
  3. Ability to prepare technical reports in compliance with Board of Registration in Nursing regulations.
  4. Prior work experience in a healthcare environment.
  5. Ability to monitor and maintain medical supply inventories.

Working Conditions:

This is an on-site, in person position with on-campus responsibilities in offices, nursing laboratories, and classrooms which requires the ability to lift up to 20lbs when receiving and organizing medical supplies on shelves.
