ANTS is hiring a Youth Sports Program Coordinator to help us fulfill our mission to be the #1 most loved K-5th sports program in the Bay Area.
The mission of ANTS Sports is to enrich the lives of Bay Area 10 & under youth with fun, trustworthy, and age-appropriate sports programs. Our popular after-school enrichment programs and summer camps run in 35+ elementary school and park locations across the Bay, and demand for our programs is growing. This position reports directly to the Owner/CEO; the right candidate will be a key decision-maker affecting the company's future.
ANTS means “America’s Next Talented Stars.” When kids join our classes, they often tell us playing sports is the most fun they’ve ever had. Our “North Star” as an organization is to be known as the most fun enrichment program available for kids in the Bay Area. In our classes, kids learn social-emotional skills and practice sportsmanship from an early age.
In this position, your mission will be to oversee the scheduling, communication, and operations of youth sports programs at 35+ locations around the Bay Area. You will recruit, interview, and onboard new coaches. You will be an amazing coach for thousands of kids and adults. You will greatly impact a small, fast-growing organization with a limitless ceiling.
This work-from-home position is based in the East Bay, CA, with the flexibility to work from anywhere 2+ months out of the year.
Job Responsibilities:
Coach recruiting & onboarding:
- In charge of recruitment and hiring to sustain the incredible growth of ANTS Sports programs across Bay Area communities
- Develop a robust pipeline of qualified coach applicants
- Conduct coach interviews and reference checks to identify high quality candidates
- Conduct compliant onboarding for all new hires
- Build mutually beneficial partnerships with local universities
Program coordination responsibilities:
- Lead coach scheduling efforts for existing after school programs and summer camps in 35+ sites
- Execute and improve our systems of program communication with parents, school site coordinators, and coaches
- Identify program leads in various Bay Area communities based on our staffing capacity
- Drive best-in-class customer service and relationship building in all interactions with staff, community organizations, and families enrolled in our programs
Various other responsibilities:
- Be excited and physically able to coach youth sports after-school enrichment classes on weekday afternoons as needed
- Help with in-person and digital marketing efforts for our growing company
- Identify and lead website and internal process improvements
- Help train our amazing youth sports coaches!
Requirements
The ideal candidate should:
- Be located in Oakland, CA, or the East Bay, California (this is not a remote position).
- Be passionate about all sports and experienced in multi-sport instruction for young children (ages 5-11)
- Have strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Be excited and physically able to coach youth sports after-school enrichment classes on weekday afternoons
- Have a car and be comfortable driving around the Bay (San Francisco & East Bay) to visit programs as needed during peak seasons (September and January)
- Be an entrepreneurial self-starter who can work independently in a startup environment
- Be extremely comfortable using Google Suite online tools
- Be a people person comfortable with delivering & receiving feedback from other coaches
- Have strong self-awareness. You examine your strengths and areas for development and consider listening to others an important value
- Approach obstacles with a growth mindset
- Be committed to working closely with the owner of ANTS to develop the architecture that will sustain the growth of ANTS Sports for years to come.
Your experience:
- Extremely passionate about youth sports and our mission
- Demonstrated expertise in coaching sports to young children (ages 5-11)
- 3+ years of program coordination or project management in a fast-paced environment
- 1+ years of recruiting experience
- Experience working collaboratively online with Google tools
- Qualifications are flexible for the right candidate.
Benefits
Target salary based on experience is $55,000-$75,000. This position offers flexible paid time off.
