Job Description
- You are part of the Global PB BU organization, Marketing & Product Development team, and as Product Applications Specialist you support the North American PB Sales organization for all Food and H&N related applications
- You understand how our products function in Food and H&N applications and are the go-to person for our customers, prospects, distributors and internal sales team when it comes to providing expert advice
- You give regular product application training to customers, prospects, distributors and colleagues in order to make sure that our product value propositions are demonstrated and understood
- You inspire our customers in their product development
- You actively identify and support application innovation projects at Key Customers and you join sales and product managers on Key Account visits
- You are responsible for all technical documentation related to the different applications of our products
- Through your customer contacts, you gather input that allows you to identify possible product improvements as well as ideas for new generations of, or innovative new, products
- You support internal Product Applications Development projects and actively give input that helps building compelling Product Value Propositions
- This job is a combination of day-to-day product application support and strategic reflection towards innovation
- You are the link between the Food and H&N market, our Sales team, our Marketing & Product Development Team, our Innovation & Technology and our Operations colleagues
- You are part of the global Product Applications Specialists Team and frequently connect, consult and share input/knowledge with the team
- You report to the Global Product Applications Development & Support Manager
- You will be located in Davenport (Iowa) or home based (will depend on level of experience) but frequent travelling (max 30 %) will be part of the job
Qualifications
Education:
- You should hold a degree, preferably in Food Technology, Bio-engineering or equivalent by experience
Work experience:
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in product development for the food, pharmaceutical, or dietary supplement industry
Special Skills:
- You are passionate about food and food processing
- You have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
- You are used at working independently with cross-functional teams
- You have good project management skills
- You have good communication, commercial and interpersonal skills and are used to work with different cultures
Special Knowledge
- Experience in gummy confection manufacturing is a plus
- Experience in dietary supplement development is helpful
Languages:
- You are fluent in English. Dutch, French, Spanish and German are a good plus..
