The Sr. Manager, Business Development for the Optical Solutions Team will offer you a dynamic opportunity to drive business growth strategy, formulate market research and new use-cases/products, deliver strategic recommendations, work with leaders across the organization to drive strategic initiatives to increase our market footprint. As the Sr. Manager, Business Development you will report directly to the Head of Optical Solutions.
The Sr. Manager, Business Development will work cross-functionally across all key market segments, R&D, Marketing and Sales to facilitate the refinement of Optical Solutions' strategy through a disciplined and best-in-class process. The position is responsible for identifying, prioritizing, developing and delivering market insights to drive business development. The Sr. Manager, Business Development will quantify potential markets and investment risks for strategic growth opportunities in the US and Europe, in markets such as automotive, consumer electronics and AR/VR/MR.
Essential Job Functions: - Develop portfolio of business development strategies including market intelligence, open innovation, portfolio and technology roadmaps, M&A opportunities, commercialization strategy and operational plans
- Ensure portfolio transition from development to adoption into the business and maintain a consultative supporting role once transitioned.
- Seek new adjacent market opportunities through participation in M&A due diligence teams, conducting external business reviews and technology assessments
- Perform strategy specific analytical deep-dives to define and size market segments, the customer landscape customer personas to identify performance trends and opportunities.
- Translate business strategy into executable work, such as customers and prospects visits, workshops organization, participation to conferences; Prepare strategic business initiatives (through robust planning) for execution, partnering with cross-functional colleagues and guide them through the execution phase
- Develop a detailed understanding of Synopsys's portfolio and drivers, and build comprehensive and innovative competitive analyses, exploring new business models and key innovation areas
- Lead the development of customer insights and competitive landscaping for incorporating both organic and inorganic growth plans.
- Influence diverse functional business stakeholders in a matrix organizational structure
Education and Experience: - Master's Degree in Business, or Optical/Computer science discipline
- Minimum 8-10 years of business development experience
- Knowledge of technical and scientific details of optical technologies preferred
- Experience working with financial modeling
- Experience building credibility with customers, key opinion leaders and internal stakeholders
- Prior experience managing significant business initiatives
