SCHEDULE:This is a full-time, 46-week (salaried/exempt) live-in position with 24-hour accountability.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:The Resident Director provides educational programming, counseling, administration, and supervision in a residence hall. The responsibility is to create an atmosphere conducive to learning and living and accomplish the goals of the institution, Student Life, and Residence Life.
The position of Resident Director is a physically demanding job that requires an individual to be able to respond immediately to an emergency, respond to an individual’s need, evaluate a maintenance problem, or just spend time with students. Some of our residence halls contain multiple stories and do not have access by elevator.
Administrative: Work in a professional manner with faculty, other colleagues, other professionals, and the community.
Resident Staff: Training, supervision, and coordination of assigned Resident Assistants.
Hall Management: To oversee and manage the daily on-going operation of the assigned residential living space.
Conduct: To encourage and monitor residents in maintaining their decorum and conduct based on the university’s value system as stated in the student handbook.
QUALIFICATIONS:
