POSITION SUMMARY AND GENERAL PURPOSE
The Para Transit Driver must be customer service oriented and committed to professionalism in all aspects of the job. Assisting in improving a positive KQT Brand with all customers is the general purpose of all KQT employees.
A. EDUCATION AND LICENSURES REQUIRED
- Valid DE Driver's License (required for Driver)
B. COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Physical strength to consistently meet KQT lifting requirements.
- Relationship Skills: - "People Person" with Patients and Family
- Professional behavior with Co-workers, Management, Customers - Flexible with the scheduling, working with Dispatch, and Management.
c. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Physical Performance: - Physical strength to consistently meet KQT lifting requirements
- Continuous work effort Interest in meeting Customer needs
- Provide timely transports, route travels, and abide by all state and local rules and regulations while driving.
Attendance and Flexibility:
- Exhibit Flexibility in working with scheduling, fellow Paratransit Drivers, and our customers
- Develop multi-tasking ability with paperwork, patient preparation, and transport.
- Customer Service:
- Demonstrate personal accountability to the patient and company by being on time, completing all nescessary forms, protecting and caring for the patient, and being respectful at facilities.
- Demonstrate personal accountability by meeting all employee expectations in the Policy and
- Procedure manual.
- Maintain professional appearance and behavioral at all times.
- Demonstrate personal accountability by being on time for work in a clean and professional manner.
Communications: - Report any difficulties in the field with facilities, patients, civilians, and traffic with Dispatch
- Communicate any field difficulties to Dispatch and work to resolve them professionally
Directions:
- Follow directions for Dispatch or Supervisors -if you become lost or uncertain of your route, pull off the road and work the new directions out with Dispatch or your Supervisor
Vehicle Care:
- Follow policies for keeping vehicle clean and sanitized for transports
- Avoid careless collisions - be recognized as a safe driver by peers
- Report vehicle issues with Base Management
- Turn off your vehicle when parked outside of Facility or Residence
- Never leave the battery, lights or any device on that could result in vehicle failure
Patient Care:
- Committed to patient and personal safety at all times, and effectively communicates immediately On issues or concerns that will prevent you from doing so.
- Secure wheel chair patients in a perfect 7-point tie-down every single transport. Verify that the Patient remains safely secured throughout the transport (at stop lights and stop signs).
- Assure a positive experience for patient on every transport.
Documentation:
- Complete and submit all necessary documents for all transports
- Assure that all documents are consistent and accurate
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Maintain all necessary certifications and licenses. Must be people oriented and friendly.
