General Summary : The Program Coordinator for Corporate Education and Training will assist in the coordination of English Learner Programs/PAC Programs (Levels 1 and 2) and Holistic English 2 and Holistic English 3 courses for non-English speaking individuals on the fundamentals of the English language. The Program Coordinator will complete administrative duties for the department and assist the Director with the coordinator of work activities.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Work alongside the Corporate Education and Training Director and Staff to plan both Fall and Spring English Learner Programs/PAC Programs (Levels 1 and 2) for non-English speaking individuals on the fundamentals of the English language so that they can communicate with others in person.
- Field inquiries for potential students interested in improving their English skills and direct them to the appropriate program/department.
- Plan and schedule Holistic English 2 and Holistic English 3 courses to be offered to PAC Program completers during the Fall and Spring.
- Set up assessment meetings with all potential course enrollees in coordination with Corporate Education and Training Administrative Staff.
- Track all student registrations utilizing MS Excel, including student demographics and contact information.
- Coordinate with Corporate Education and Training Administrative staff to register each student into the MCC Banner System.
- Provide guidance and counseling to English Learner Institute and PAC Level 1 and 2 Program completers with action items for the next steps on their educational and/or career journey and connection to other programs at MCC.
- Collaborate with MCC internal staff including Enrollment, Admissions, the Adult Learning Center, the ELL for Credit Program, and the Intensive English Institute to assist students and for referrals to various programming and offices.
- Complete other duties as assigned
Job Requirements: - Demonstrated experience in customer service or administrative roles, showcasing the ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals and manage administrative tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS), along with an understanding of basic PC operations.
- Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience at the college or high school level, both in traditional classroom settings and in online environments
- Bilingual skills a plus
Additional Information: Salary Range : $25.25 per hour in accordance with MCC Part-Time Wage Schedule .
Location : Lowell campus with occasional travel to Bedford as needed
Hours : 18.5 per week, schedule to be determined upon hire
