Embedded QA Engineer - Camera

Job description
We are looking for an experienced and outcome-driven Embedded Quality Engineer to ensure that we deliver the best in-class camera solution for iOS products! Are you passionate about testing firmware/drivers for the image processing pipeline and the machine learning neural engine? If so, you will work closely with the software development team to build and implement test plans focused on qualifying camera firmware and drivers to ensure we ship a quality product. The ideal candidate will have a history of working on successful, large-volume consumer products.

Key Qualifications
- Understanding of the camera technologies, image signal processing (ISP) pipeline, 3A, video formats and color space
- 3 years+ of QA experience testing embedded system products
- Must be proficient in Python or similar scripting language
- Strong in developing system and feature level test plans and test cases
- Must have experience developing automated tests supporting embedded systems or mobile devices
- Familiarity and experience with command-line operation of operating systems such as macOS or Unix/Linux preferred
- Strong verbal and excellent interpersonal skills

In this role you will:
Independently drive and own testing of one or more camera features across platforms
Design test cases and implement test plans related to functionality, performance, power, stability, and image quality of our camera solution
Automate test cases and develop test tools on mobile platforms
Partner with development teams and multi-functional QA team to triage, diagnose, debug issues and derive root-cause
Identify trends and highlight potential risks
Education & Experience
BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
