Filter / Membrane Application & Field Engineer – Membrane & Process Development
Location: Remote
Reports to: Director of Sales

***Compensation for this role is $90,000 to $105,000. The role is eligible for an annual company bonus .***

You must reside in the United States and not require any level of sponsorship to continue to work in the US long term.

As an Application & Field Engineer for Sterlitech, you are responsible for the management and development of membrane product applications. You will provide technical support and training, both in-person and remotely, to the Sales team and its customers.  

This will involve completing job assignments related to maintaining, troubleshooting, servicing, and commissioning membrane filtration systems to its customer base located throughout the U.S.

The Application & Field Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction both during and after the sales process.

This is a customer-facing role and travel is required up to 25%.

Your responsibilities:

• Sales Collaboration & Support
• Collaborate with the Membrane & Process Development sales team to provide technical insights during pre-sales activities, such as proposal development and customer meetings.
• Generate technical documentation for sales support and for technical marketing (Blog Articles, White Papers, etc.), application notes, and FAQs to assist customers and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, projects, contacts in CRM (NetSuite)
• Represent Sterlitech at occasional industry meetings, symposiums, and trade shows.
• Provide sales support via phone, Zoom, MS Teams, etc.: may be required to work with customers to define product needs and suggest alternatives.
• Provide input to product development teams based on customer feedback and market insights.
• Research products and keep abreast of current technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Technical Support:

• Conduct on-site visits to customer locations to provide hands-on technical support during system installation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, both remotely and on-site, to ensure optimal performance of membrane systems.
• Maintain an expert level of product and application knowledge in membrane filtration.
• Provide application-specific membrane system design recommendations to customers.
• Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the Company mission, values, and financial objectives.

Qualifications / Required Skills / Key Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree or above; Chemical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, MSE, Chemistry etc.)
• Must have basic filter / membrane technologies experience from air, water, medical, biotechnology, lab or related industries.
• 5+ years of experience working (sales or engineering focused) with advanced manufactured technologies.
• Sales or Technical Sales Support experience a plus.
• Customer-focused mindset with a passion for problem-solving and delivering exceptional service.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across departments.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong computer and MS Suite skills.

Work Environment:

• Work from home environment with some travel.
• Exposed to a combination of office and shop environments.
• Occasional exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 annualized, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at Sterlitech, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. This role may be open to remote work, where you will work from home with company provided equipment to set you up for success.
