McCall’s Meat & Fish Company is hiring for our shop in Santa Monica! McCall’s specializes in fine meats and seafood, but we also offer a wide variety of specialty products such as imported and domestic cheeses, oils, vinegars, and locally-sourced produce from the farmers market. We are looking for passionate people to join our team and to grow with us during this exciting time!
McCall’s Meat and Fish in Santa Monica is looking for a full-time AM Dishwasher/Prep to join our team.
Job responsibilities:
- Maintaining a clean shop, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, keeping dish area free of clutter and organized.
- Sets up dish station and sets up shop for morning butcher team (wash/sanitizer buckets, trash cans, paper towels, etc.)
- Receives deliveries, checks them in, reports any issues to mangers on duty, put deliveries away in a timely and organized manner.
- Helps restock all retail areas as needed
- Helps receive/pack/organize farmers market deliveries
- Meat Slicing and Preparation: Coordinate the slicing and preparation of various meats, ensuring precision, consistency, and adherence to food safety standards; Monitor inventory levels, anticipate demand, and maintain appropriate stock of sliced meats to meet customer needs while minimizing waste
- Deliver warm customer service that maintains the charm of the local neighborhood butcher shop/take the extra mile to engage with the customer
- Food and beverage knowledge
- Able to work well under pressure
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Light cutting for custom cut meat/fish (no experience in cutting? we will teach you!)
- California food handler card or ServSafe certificate
