Job description
Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Data Analyst/Programmer to support Army Aviation’s Maintenance Airworthiness Engineering Division and the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD). This position is based inCorpus Christi, TX.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Responsible for leveraging the latest analytic tools and processes to maximize the transformation of data into readable, goal-driven data products for continued innovation and growth.
- Work within an Analytics Center of Excellence comprised of data professionals in a data pre-processing capacity ensuring the information at hand is ready for upstream modeling, and downstream reporting and analytics.
- Individuals should be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including mining, generation, and visualization to develop new insights to grow the front end of the customer business.
Specific tasks will include the following:
- Work closely with the business stakeholder data teams to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs.
- Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance or improvements in efficiency and productivity.
- Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from the organization's Enterprise Data Hub or other disparate systems.
- Apply advanced analytic / visualization techniques, and methods leveraging our defined technology stack as required by the Analytics Center of Excellence Team, special projects in partnership with the Transformation Office, or as needed by business stakeholders.
- Contribute to data mining architectures, modeling standards, reporting, and data analysis methodologies for production databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on data mining products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, administrators, development staff, and other stakeholders to integrate ad hoc data mining results back into source systems where applicable.
- Adhere to change control and testing processes for modifications to analytical models.
- Conduct various data auditing, quality assurance, aggregation, validation, and reconciliation within the data made available to you.
- Ability to work in a highly visible, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills as the role will require working on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing, and executing assigned deliverables.
- On-site presence with customers is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an analytical role.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally with different areas of the organization, and ability to participate in a team-oriented environment.
- Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations of complex findings in plain language.
- A high proficiency in the following is required: SQL, Tableau, and GIT.
- A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Must be a US citizen and have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Python, Alteryx, Power BI, Data Visualization, C++, and Microsoft Azure Cloud experience.
- Active DoD Security Clearance
- Previous military experience
