National Grid is hiring a Senor Supervisor, Substation Worker for our NE Electric PTO and Substation Ops division in Somerset, Mass. This is an onsite/in the field position (not hybrid). Valid driver's license with clean driving record required.

Job Purpose
The role holder is responsible for oversight of the assigned M&C Electric Work Group insuring the safe daily operation of assigned operations personnel in order to effectively and efficiently accomplish job tasks in-line with departmental and National Grid requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner.
Build good working relationships with internal & external customers and manage the day-to-day relationship with them in order to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solutions within National Grid policies and processes.
Act as the Lead contact for multiple internal stakeholders and outside agencies in order to provide support and ensure National Grid deliver against service level agreements.
Promote and implement best practices across M&C Electric Operations in order to ensure all work tasks achieve high productivity and low costs.
Monitor performance of allocated represented staff by having a strong knowledge of the Labor Agreement and upholding both company and employees rights as written to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and effectively.
Contribute to the protection of the public and organizational personnel by ensuring all materials, standards and procedures are in line with National Grid safety policies and processes.
Collate information in order to ensure operational activity is in line with external regulations and ensure more senior team members have accurate and up to date information as required.
Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes.
Monitor and assess team working practices to ensure they are compliant with regulations relating to their area.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
Effective people management and communication skills are essential for this role.
Good at personal development and managing poor performance.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree preferred as well as 5 years' experience
Requires a general educational background with specialized training in basic electricity and electric theory, national application standards and job-related experience or knowledge equivalent to that acquired through completion of a two year technical school plus additional specialized training with 5 years qualifying experience.
Technically proficient within subject matter with experience of leading a team involved in transactional operational services.
Must have a good working knowledge of tools and systems within designated area.

Possesses theoretical knowledge and understanding of National Grid’s policies and processes and how to apply them effectively.
Must have experience managing a team with the ability to build effective, respectful, working relationships.

Salary : $113,000-133,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
