SAIC is seeking a Mechanic in North Charleston, SC .
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will be primarily tasked with performing moderate to complex vehicle integration tasks to include cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support to integrate, install, modify, and perform upgrades in support of C5ISR systems.
- Read and follow integration documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation.
Be able to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following:
- Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis.
- Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods.
- Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, Mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary.
- Move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment.
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program; or High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Six (6) with degree/formal training or ten (10) years with HS/GED of practical experience.
- Five (5) years of practical experience in C4ISR systems, C4ISR land-based vehicular platforms or related C4ISR systems/subsystems. Experience, to include: installation of such equipment.
- Three (3) year of experience, to include: design, preparation and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
- Four (4) years of experience in task C4ISR systems, C4ISR land-based vehicular platforms or related C4ISR systems/subsystems, of which 3 must have been performed within the last 4 years. Experience may be achieved simultaneously.
Required Security Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Public Trust security clearance. Active clearances accepted.
