Job description
St. Mary’s College of Maryland is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics with specializations in Labor Economics and Statistics. Candidates must be able to teach Labor Economics, Economic Statistics, and Econometrics. Time series analysis and machine learning methods are valued, as is an interest in teaching China’s Economy. Qualifications include an economics Ph.D. (may be ABD at time of application if degree completion by August 2024 is certain), a record of, or demonstrating promise of, high quality research and teaching. Faculty members teach three courses per semester, advise program majors, supervise senior projects, and fulfill departmental and college-level service responsibilities. Faculty are expected to be a regular presence on campus, and all courses are taught in person. An interest in attracting and retaining students from underrepresented groups is desirable. The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000. When extending an offer of employment, the College considers factors including, but not limited to, education and training, work experience, internal peer equity, and organizational considerations. This salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting.
