The focus of this position is to cover all materials/chemical engineering tasks related to research and development projects for instrument transformers.

Essential Responsibilities
- Manage all chemical/materials engineering related projects as assigned
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, electrical engineers, and mechanical designers, to ensure customer satisfaction
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in the selection of materials, such as insulating fluids, and gases, solid or semi-solid insulating materials, metals etc. to optimize product performance
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to identify potential improvements or modifications to existing materials used in high voltage equipment
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical team members at remote factories to ensure job success
- Offer technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including customers and field service teams, to address inquiries and troubleshoot issues
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or higher, from college or university in Chemistry, Chemical or Materials Engineering
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience in the power industry
- Previous work related to dielectric materials used in medium and or high voltage and/or high current equipment, such as insulating gases (SF6 or it’s alternatives), fluids (mineral oil or alternative fluids, such as esters, silicone fluids) and/or solid materials (polymer, composite materials
Desired Characteristics
- Previous work related to metals used in high voltage equipment, such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- Knowledge of materials analysis methods
- Technical project management experience is a plus
- Previous work in a chemical lab is a plus
- Experience with silicone based insulating materials is an advantage
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
- The successful candidate is expected to manage the assigned tasks independently based on the manager’s input. Occasional travel might be required.
- Ability to work in a global environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with other engineers of different background (electrical, mechanical)
