Provider Communications Specialist
Position Summary At MedReview, our mission is to bring accuracy, accountability, and clinical excellence to healthcare. As such, we are a leading authority in payment integrity solutions including DRG Validation, Cost Outlier and Readmission reviews.
The Provider Communications Specialist is responsible for assisting in the retrieval of medical records for audit. The Provider Communications Specialist conducts outreach calls to providers for medical records due for audit and works with the provider to ensure timely and/or un-penalized submission of records. This position is 9A to 5P in the office located at 1 Seaport Plaza, 199 Water St., 27 th Floor, NY, NY, 10038.

Candidate must understand and be willing and able to assume roles and responsibilities other than these to meet the needs of the Customer Service/Call Center Department and MedReview in general. - Utilize Medreview systems to review and verify chart status.
- Conduct internet research to obtain provider contact information.
- Conduct outreach calls to providers to request medical records for audit.
- Verify contact information with providers for requesting documents required for audit and ensure client and member data is safeguarded in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other Medreview departments to ensure validity of contact information given by the provider.
- Update Outreach Report accordingly and submit daily for review.
- Outreach providers regarding resubmission of charts when needed.
Qualifications: - High school Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
- Experience conducting high volume calls.
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy information standards required.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload and complete tasks independently.
- Demonstrates excellence in listening, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and other applications.
- Previous experience handling medical records required.
- Experience in a medical review or healthcare/health plan setting required.
Salary: 40k-42k
