JCC Greater Boston has an immediate need for a full-time Family Engagement Manager/Pomi Pro. This is a newly created position and an amazing opportunity to be a part of our new Pomi program that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and families in and around Greater Boston. Play a vital leading role in the implementation, management, and oversight of programming and events for our innovative new mobile programming vehicle , which transforms into a play space, a performance stage, or a small group program area providing fun programs and experiences for families with young children.

This full-time, year-round hybrid job which includes: working from home, hosting events around the Greater Boston area as well as attending meetings at our home office in Newton, Massachusetts. Offering great benefits including work life balance and very generous paid time off. The starting salary is $57,120 - $69,360 per year. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the hours the employee will work, the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity.

Requirements

As the Family Engagement Manager, you will be instrumental facilitating a warm, welcoming, and vibrant culture at Pomi events and programs, mostly on and around our new mobile programming vehicle, which can transform into a play space, a performance stage, or a small group program area. This role works directly with and supports individuals and families with children ages 0-3.

• In collaboration with Programming Director and Pomi Chief Design Officer, create a year-long calendar of educational and social programming for individuals, couples, and families with young children

• Propose, develop, and lead high-quality programs to serve families with young children through a Jewish lens. Events may include playdates, Shabbat and Jewish holidays programs, workshops for caregivers, and large-scale events with performers and other contracted programmers. Responsible for event management and supervising program staff at events by implementing program plans and providing staff assignments as necessary. Supervise contractors/ programmers and other staff assigned to support Pomi programs..
• Partner with the Director of Programming to cultivate meaningful relationships with families engaged with Pomi. Facilitate a warm, welcoming, and vibrant culture at Pomi events and programs.
• Identify and nurture opportunities for developing community relationships with organizations to further Pomi program goals. Make connections between potential program partners or locations in service of building a roster of sites/partners for Pomi programs to take place that are aligned with audience and content goals
• Oversee relevant administrative functions related to program execution, marketing, and communications. Welcome participants to the program, lead activities, and create a welcoming environment. Design and set up space as needed (e.g. set-up tables, Pomi signage, promotional materials, and activities). For truck events, partner with Pomi Driver to set up vehicle for assigned programs.
• Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications :

• Has a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Advanced training or coursework in experiential learning, early childhood development, and/or Jewish education preferred

• Has a minimum of 5 years experience working with children and families. Demonstrated success convening and facilitating group programs or events geared toward new parents and families with young children, including:

• 1-3 years of relevant staff supervisory experience
• Experience with event organization and implementation
• Experience building relationships and supporting families with young children through relational programming and service delivery

• Must have a familiarity with Judaism and Jewish Life

• Has a valid unrestricted US driver’s license and ability to reliably travel around Greater Boston for Pomi programs
• Possesses a warm and welcoming personality and professional demeanor and confident in supporting the needs of young families through a Jewish lens and excited to welcome families to the Pomi experience
• Demonstrates outstanding time management, verbal and written communication, organization, and detail-oriented abilities. Demonstrated experience handling responsibilities independently
• Is an independent thinker and self-motivated. Comfortable utilizing data systems to manage program attendance, document program outcomes, and support organizational reports with quantitative and qualitative data
• Experience with Eventbrite, Canva, and Hubspot a plus

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC’s discretion to meet minimum criteria .

Physical Requirements

• Able to move tables, pop-up tents, and other event equipment to effectively set up for programs.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive a vehicle for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to push, pull, crouch, bend, kneel, and physically assist in event setups.
