Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical assembly, preferably within the aerospace or military manufacturing industry. Job Duties:
- Assemble complex mechanical components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Use hand and power tools to fit, align, and secure parts to precise tolerances.
- Verify the correctness of parts and materials prior to assembly.
- Inspect and test assembled components to ensure they meet quality standards and performance criteria.
- Identify and rectify defects or malfunctions in assemblies, as needed.
- Record and document all assembly and inspection activities.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety awareness.
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes and materials used.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of assembly procedures and work instructions.
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve assembly challenges.
- Communicate effectively to report progress and issues related to assembly tasks.
- Ensure the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment used in assembly.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in mechanical assembly is a plus.
- Proven experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in the aerospace or military defense industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for assembly.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to work safely with potentially hazardous materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
