About the Department:Sponsored Programs and Regulatory Compliance Services (SPARCS) has administrative responsibility for all sponsored contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements awarded to the University. SPARCS facilitates the submission of proposals and the negotiation of sponsored agreements for funding to NC State University. SPARCS also administers internally and externally funded projects, negotiates other types of agreements, and is responsible for subaward administration. This includes all aspects of externally sponsored research and scholarship, from pre-award management to non-fiscal post award management.
Essential Job Duties:The Subaward Negotiator in the Office of Sponsored Programs will be responsible for drafting and negotiating outgoing subaward agreements utilizing standard templates, leading to the establishment of an acceptable agreement to fund outgoing subawards supporting NC State research, instruction or other sponsored activities. The Subaward Negotiator will work with a wide variety of external stakeholders including federal, state, and local government partners, other research institutions, non-profit entities, and small businesses.
The Subaward Negotiator will be expected to effectively utilize their own expertise, employ University resources, and regularly engage internal and external stakeholders in order to consistently produce detailed, clear, and well-organized negotiated agreements at the highest level of accuracy and consistent with University policies and procedures. Minimum Education and Experience:Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in the processing, negotiating, and/or administration of grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements.
