Description
SAIC is seeking a Jr Aerospace Engineer to assist in the development of software for 6 degrees-of-freedom digital and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulations of aerospace vehicles. The successful candidate will document results of trade studies, test multi-player collaborative weapon systems, and help develop scalable architecture for supporting large groups of collaborative weapon systems in real-time simulations. Current work includes alternative shared memory interface development, real-time computer upgrades such as (iHawk), and testing simulations using HWIL interfaces (navigation, data links, radios, sensors, seekers, etc.). This role provides onsite support for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) located on Eglin AFB.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in engineering; aerospace or mechanical; will consider recent graduates or current college students due to graduate by May 2024
- 0-2 years’ experience working in a laboratory; college projects considered
- A bility to obtain and maintain an active DOD SECRET clearance
- A bility to communicate effectively with engineering team and work with civil service or government engineers assigned to the AFRL
- Candidate must reside in proximity to customer laboratory and be able to work in office
- Candidate must have basic programming skills in at least one of: C, C++, Python, or MATLAB
- Candidate must have fundamental grasp of dynamics and be comfortable working with multiple coordinate frames.
