Job description

Overview::

Hammel, Green and Abrahamson, Inc., dba HGA, seeks a Medical Planner in our Minneapolis, MN, office (telecommuting from anywhere in the US allowed) to work with the Principal, Project Manager and Designer while undertaking the functional site planning and space programming for renovations and new construction for all types of healthcare facilities including replacement hospitals.

In this role you will::

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Programs and plans healthcare facilities and collaborates with user groups, departments, and hospital administration;
• Works with Principal in the development and analysis of the client's building program so that it can be communicated clearly with the project team for all project phases;
• Works directly with doctors, nurses and other medical personnel to reach consensus on concepts to address space needs;
• Conducts research and analyses of space utilization, determines space requirements for expanding, and creates solutions to meet evolving needs;
• Works closely with project managers, contractors and consultants to implement design concepts through project completion;
• Represents the Principal in maintaining positive client relationships;
• Contributes to and assists Principals as appropriate in the marketing of assigned projects including development of proposals and possible participation in client interviews;
• Demonstrates credible knowledge of current healthcare planning and programming concepts;
• Utilizes past experience and technical knowledge to monitor the quality of drawings produced, coaching as appropriate;
• Has knowledge of and applies governing regulatory codes and hospital licensing standards to projects and validates that they are met throughout the project;
• Follows the planning and design information through the production and implementation documentation process to ensure continuity of the design intent; and
• Works with Senior Architect, coordinates and prepares documents with all architectural and engineering disciplines.

You will need to have::

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, or a foreign equivalent degree, and at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience, including: (i) design experience working with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Blue Beam, and Microsoft Office Suite on medium- to large-scale ($50-100+ million construction budget) healthcare new construction and renovation projects; and (ii) medical planning experience during design phase with the ability to produce construction documents. In the alternative, we also accept a Master's degree in Architecture, or a foreign equivalent degree, plus at least five (5) years of experience above. Travel to project sites across the US (0-10%). Telecommuting from anywhere in the US is allowed.

Salary Information::

Salary range: $92,020 - $123,300/year. The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
