JOB TITLE: Veterinary Student Intern - Hill’s U.S. Professional Veterinary Affairs Department
LOCATION: Remote Work with potential Kansas City travel DURATION: 10 weeks

This is an exciting opportunity for a second year veterinary student to experience life as part of the Hill’s US Professional Veterinary Affairs team.

The Hill’s U.S. Professional Veterinary Affairs (USPVA) team is the face of the veterinary profession at Hill’s Pet Nutrition US and the veterinary voice within the US Company. The USPVA team leads the on the ground execution of initiatives that drive the Hill’s mission, nutritional philosophy, brand, and products. The USPVA team interacts directly with our academic, corporate and private practice customers. The USPVA team employs a variety of veterinarians and veterinary technicians with varied areas of expertise.

We are looking to you, as a motivated, high performing second year veterinary school student who can contribute to our team here in Kansas City and  customers in the US.  You will be working on areas such as:

  1. Collaborating with US PVA on social and educational initiatives

  2. Working with the Veterinary Consultation Team on new tools and metrics

  3. Assisting Scientific Communications team on digital tools

  4. Providing assistance with content ideation, development, and execution of US professional social media pages.

  5. Helping to develop digital educational tools in collaboration targeted at emerging professional groups

  6. Support the K-State Partnership with digital engagement tools and initiatives

  7. Work on a recent graduate project on how to engage and create tools that are meaningful

  8. Design and test educational tools, including podcasts, FBlive videos, and other digital content.

  9. Help design a Vet Student Externship at Hill’s for senior students

You will have the opportunity to work alongside the Hill’s Kansas City team in a hybrid workplace environment ; observe interaction with other departments including marketing and customer development.  You will also have exposure to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in the US Company and in the global department.   We encourage you to apply if you want to explore additional opportunities that your veterinary degree can offer.

REQUIREMENTS:
•          Students who are in good academic standing. Need to provide a resume, and unofficial transcript

•          Undergraduate degree and completed 2nd year veterinary school

•          Positivity, integrity and a willingness to learn

•          Strong critical and analytical thinking and keen research skills

•          Willingness to try new ideas & technologies to find innovative solutions to business issues
•          Strong communication, organizational and time-management skills

•          Aptitude in digital and social media communication

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $23.00 - $38.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
