Description Join our amazing team as our newest Emergency/ICU Veterinary Technician/Assistant
Looking for a veterinary technician or assistant for the Emergency department. Required skills: empathy (for patients, clients, and coworkers) teamwork, eagerness to learn, strong work ethic, effective communication

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: - Caring for our hospitalized patients
- Cleaning, laundry and basic clinic up keep
- Patient handling and restraint
- Medication administration & filling prescriptions
- Triage
- IVC placement
- Blood draws
- Assisting our Technicians and our Veterinarian as needed
- Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!)

Skills Knowledge and Expertise - High school diploma or GED required
- Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience
- Actively contribute to community engagement initiatives by collaborating with the team to address the unique needs of our community, particularly in emergency situations. Assist in making informed decisions that prioritize the well-being of both pets and their owners during emergency room situations.
- Provide essential support in critical situations, demonstrating a keen understanding of the critical nature of our patients. Proficiently perform life-saving procedures, including CPR, when necessary.
- Thrive in a fast-paced and stressful environment, showcasing the ability to remain composed under pressure. Execute tasks efficiently and prioritize effectively to contribute to the seamless operation of the emergency room.
- Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It's okay if you talk to animals, too!)
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
- Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
