Job description
South Broward Animal Hospital is looking to add a Managing Veterinarian to our team! Located in sunny Fort Lauderdale, we are a well-established small animal practice that provides full-service care to canine and feline companions. We offer general practice as well as urgent care hours to our clients 7 days per week. Our two doctors are supported by a confident and experienced support staff, multiple having close to 10 years (or more) of experience.
We offer a wide array of services and can provide any DVMs ample opportunity to practice diverse and high-quality medicine. On top of wellness and diagnostic care we are passionate about soft tissue surgery, preventative care, dentistry radiographs, and more. While we offer extended hours 7 days per week to our clients, we do not have overnight shifts for the urgent care. Essential Responsibilities - Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications - Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
