Job Overview
The Facilities and Maintenance Technician ensures the completion of building and grounds upkeep and repair.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Employee may perform required labor in the installation (or teardown) of articles such as storage racks, etc. and be required to clean production machines and empty chip receptacles.
- The FMT will perform duties such as sweeping, cleaning and garbage collection in the general plant area on an as needed basis and must have the mechanical ability to perform manual tasks such as product painting and facility painting as required.
- The FMT employee must be able to dismantle customer returned product for the purpose of cleaning and examination of all component parts.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs of all mechanical equipment assigned to building and grounds, to include snow removal equipment, forklift truck, steam cleaner, welding equipment, etc
- Monitor and maintain building supplies.
- Any other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
T he FMT must also adhere to the following general plant practices:
- Safety glasses must be always worn during working periods in the plant and all other generally accepted safety, environmental and health practices must be observed.
- All work areas must be kept hazardous free during working hours and the area must be left clean at the end of each shift period.
- All tools, etc. being operated must be properly maintained by either the MAP or an authorized repair person.
Qualifications:
The employee must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and work effectively with fellow employees. He/she must possess the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School or GED required.
- No experience is needed.
- Valid state driver’s license
- Preventative Maintenance
- Electrical background
Work Environment:
- Shop environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to cutting oils, lubricants, and sharp objects
