Senior Technical Project Manager (Contractor)
The OEI team is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our team in North America. In this role, you will oversee and optimize engineering technical processes and systems in order to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality. In our team, we focus on solving organizational issues at scale and driving employee engagement in our organizational vision. An important part of your role will be to lead and mature the functions within an engineering organization such as maintaining process documentation in GitHub repos related to planning, promotions, hiring and procedure guides. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement, design and implement solutions, and measure results. You will also be responsible for tracking and analyzing key engineering performance indicators, as well as developing and maintaining a comprehensive roadmap for engineering operations initiatives.
What you will do
- Drive projects from inception to delivery managing budget, timelines, and quality goals.
- Execute delivery process so that the distributed teams can work as an effective, objective driven and collaborative global team
- Ability to clearly identify and articulate project status , identify complex blockers, and work with a sense of urgency to mitigate unexpected issues, when they arise
- Leverage the existing tools or put in place new ones to ensure effective execution of projects
- Experience working in rapidly changing and ambiguous environments while leading people towards a clear, continuous integrated model of delivery
- Demonstrated success in working in the open and delivering results through cross functional, cross organizational collaboration
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
- Excellent facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to inspire change at all levels
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills; ability to forge consensus among competing constituents on critical and time sensitive issues
- Provide leadership and help foster a work culture that recognizes, supports individual differences in work-styles, technical expertise, cultures and values to maximize team performance and effectively achieve team goals
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with demonstrated record of delivering software development projects , can quickly absorb new technologies and proven experience in creating clarity in the midst of complexity
- Experience in understanding the technical architecture and design of a product/ feature(s)
- Experience writing requirements documentation or training materials a must
- Experience writing for large audiences to engage diverse stakeholders and organizations
- Experience with open source technologies and workflows
- Experience with GitHub (or similar technologies) is important
- Experience in iterative introduction and adoption of various process and change management practices designed for the organization
- Comfortable working in a 100% remote and globally distributed team
