A day in the life
The Director of Enterprise Data Management is responsible for directing the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of data storage, including data protection. Additionally, this role will leverage industry-leading integration and analytic tools to maintain a modern and dynamic data platform that is accurate, reliable, high performing and supports data sharing and usage of data for business insights and AI by our internal and external customers.
Your responsibilities will include
- Directs, leads, and oversees employees in accomplishing work objectives within the unit(s). Coaches, motivates, rewards, and recognizes employees. Sets clear goals, objectives and expectations while holding employees accountable for achieving results.
- Oversees and directs the creation, design, coding, documentation, and execution of data programs required to extract, transform, clean, load and move data into the system of record and back to clients to support production.
- Lead the creation and continuous improvement of the modern data platform to support current and future business priorities.
- Leads the data governance working group, partnering across the enterprise business units to execute on data ownership and stewardship while remaining aligned with overall business objectives.
- Defines and develops technical standards and specifications for data models, data security, and storage performance.
- Manage the data management budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support strategic initiatives and oversee the selection and implementation of data management tools and technologies.
- Maintains alignment with other key business partners to ensure the data strategy is well integrated into existing operations and aligns with the broader companies’ strategic initiatives.
- Owns the processes and policies related to data access, data sharing and data usage, and ensuring the integrity and quality of data.
- Establishes and maintains effective partnerships with internal teams and external partners, including IT, analytics and business units.
- Champion the adoption of innovative solutions that enhance data accessibility, reliability, and value extraction.
- Supports incident/problem resolution and recommends opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency of the department and/or team.
- Oversees the delivery of data services translating business needs into clearly scoped data projects and ensures timely project solution and implementation.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Project Management, Information Technology or related.
- 10 years of data operations, data analytics, data reporting, business intelligence, data management/governance or related experience.
- Experience working with both cloud and on-prem data solutions.
- 5 years of advanced supervisory/staff leadership experience.
- Desire to learn and understand the organization's priorities and how the data management team supports the priorities.
- Strong ability to make decisions and problem solve.
- Be able to strategically prioritize the work to meet the needs of the team and the organization.
- Confident in working with different areas of the business and speaking to the initiatives being worked on.
Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards
