Probate Litigation Paralegal Assistant position in our
Dallas, Texas office.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide Private Wealth attorneys and paralegals with assistance in managing case files, preparing and completing e-filing, docketing, filing, special client projects and overall client service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Assist attorneys and paralegals in fact investigation, legal research, document preparation and production, document database management, docketing/case management and overall client service.
- Learn/develop proficiency in database use and management; internet/electronic research; and project folder/electronic file maintenance.
- Review and process court filings.
- Assist with e-filing in both litigation and probate matters.
- Receive and review financial statements and maintain spreadsheet of account activity for statutory annual account purposes.
- Maintain database to track status of Court filings and Orders.
- Assist with scheduling of hearings for litigation and probate matters.
- Effectively communicate with clients and Courts.
- Assist senior paralegals and attorneys with gathering estate asset information for probate Inventory purposes.
- Assist with drafting documents including accountings and court filings.
- Docket management using Firm docketing system.
- Assist with client file maintenance and management (properly saving documents in NetDocs, etc.).
- Provide assembly/duplication of supporting documents in case preparation for motions, depositions and trials, including organizing documents chronologically or alphabetically, tab and assembly of exhibits, packets, etc.
- Assist with filing in large document cases. Retrieve specific documents such as pleadings, exhibits, depositions, etc. as requested by attorney/paralegal.
- Assist in preparing presentations to clients, proposals to potential clients, briefs, document productions, preparation for deposition.
- Mediation/arbitration/trial preparation.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned.
- Expected to meet annual targeted billable hours of 1000.

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: - One to three years litigation experience preferred.
- One to three years of probate experience preferred.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workflow and manage time.
