Position: IST Networking & Cybersecurity Instructor
School: Business, Mathematics, and Technology
Term of Employment: Full time
Compensation: Based on JC salary structure for full-time employment

Job Description:
- Provide lecture and instruction in networking and cybersecurity courses.
- Be a competent scholar in the area of instruction by continually improving relevant skills and knowledge, including following college professional development requirements.
- Must be willing to teach day, evening, off-campus, online, hybrid, and summer courses using lecture and other methods of instructional delivery, including meeting with students during posted office hours.
- Prepare reports and other student performance/attendance records in accordance with college requirements.
- Serve as an academic advisor for students pursuing degrees in the IST program in accordance with college advisement policies.
- Participate in outreach and other recruitment activities to sustain and increase the number of students pursuing IST careers.
- Be an active participant in campus activities that enrich the collegiate atmosphere.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM
- Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Information Systems Technology (networking)
- Two years of work experience in an IT field with professional knowledge in the following: Windows and Linux Server, Network +,and Cisco.
- Successfully pass Security+ and Network+ certifications within a given timeframe, provided these certifications are not already possessed.
- Applicants must possess very strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills, and show a commitment to and knowledge of retention strategies. Strong instructional design background experience creating content encompassing the course objectives for training material or technical documentation. Experience utilizing a variety of training delivery methods (e.g. self-study, instructor led, workshop/lab) to meet or exceed requirements for delivery of learning objectives to create student success, and to ensure students successfully pass the classroom and/or certification exam.
- The candidate must have strong coaching and mentoring skills, also self-motivated and self-learner
- Demonstrate the ability to manage online instruction
PREFERRED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology field (i.e. Computer Networking or CyberSecurity)
