Gift Planning Specialist [JRP-02255]

We are currently seeking to hire a Gift Planning Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the administrative operations of the Gift Planning team in the Development and Alumni Relations Division and you will manage the day-to-day functions of the Gift Planning team. The selected candidate will be extremely organized, detail oriented, and be able to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. You will possess strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement, administer, and evaluate day-to-day business and administrative activities of the Gift Planning team
- Provide oversight and recommendations and implement efficient operational processes for the administrative activities of the Gift Planning team
- Assist with budget, budget planning and other financial matters
- Monitor expenditures and prepare expense reports for directors and the team
- Organize, manage and complete special projects
- Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends
- Formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and recommendations to achieve the efficient operation of the Gift Planning program in order to support the achievement of team goals
- Assist in the development, revision and implementation of procedures grounded in policies
- Organize and implement outreach activities that may include communications, events and training
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Communicate with alumni and donors of the university via email, phone, or in person
- Work closely with other teams and departments within Development and Alumni Relations and the University to advance projects
- Produce gift memos, manage data input, maintains files, and work within the OwlConnect system to manage gift planning information, including running reports
- Coordinate calendars and meetings, makes travel arrangements, and process expenses and invoices for the team
- Work with outside vendors as needed, including on Gift Planning direct marketing efforts
- Manage program budgets
- Manage annual multi-state charitable gift annuity registration renewals
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to prioritize work and multi-task
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions
- 2+ years of experience working in non-profit/higher education settings is preferred
- Experience using Blackbaud CRM or similar alumni/donor database system is preferred
- Experience in a PC/Windows environment using Microsoft Office tools is preferred
