Job description
Responsibilities:
- Organizes both domestic and international filings, liaising with the USPTO, foreign law offices, and other relevant entities.
- Manages a meticulous docket system to track crucial deadlines for actions like responses, renewals, and oppositions, including requirements under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and payment of patent annuities abroad.
- Drafts and submits various documents to the USPTO or foreign counsel, such as assignments and client communications.
- Provides attorneys and clients with concise status reports on cases, handles incoming correspondence from foreign associates, and obtains necessary legal authorizations.
- Conducts comprehensive research on national and international patent rights, utilizing USPTO records, industry databases, and legal resources to compile relevant information.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and Paralegal certification.
- Minimum of two years of patent experience is required.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of both U.S
and foreign patent processes, including prosecution, maintenance, and renewals. - Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel, as well as experience with research databases such as Innovation, PATTSY, and Lexis/Nexis, are essential.
