Make a difference. Love what you do. Realize your full potential. We're seeking an action-oriented engineer with intellectual curiosity who is excited challenge themself testing spaceflight hardware. The position is with the team testing the flight mechanisms of both our Payload and Space Vehicle programs. This position will require test procedure writing, test execution, hands-on work with the hardware in a cleanroom environment, and multiple other test engineering responsibilities. It is also expected that this position will involve writing software scripts to support test execution, and interaction with our EGSE and software tools that support automated testing.
As an Eng I you will work closely with, and be mentored by, experts in the field. You may have the opportunity to lead significant test activities on complex, critical program mechanisms and to lead a small to mid-size team. What You'll Do: - Work in a fast-paced team environment assisting to integrate and test spaceflight hardware.
- Work in cleanroom and lab environments to verify the hardware meets requirements and characterize / calibrate its performance.
- Write, review, update, and execute test procedures and test scripts.
- Gain a detailed understanding of spacecraft mechanisms and their control electronics.
- Support the mechanisms at the payload and space vehicle levels of integration. Prepare technical documentation and give presentations to peers and management.
- Collaborate with system and subsystem engineers, mission assurance, technicians, and other program personnel.
- Use test and measurement equipment to test and troubleshoot spaceflight hardware.
- Maintain test logs and generate test reports. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
- Good communication skills a must.
- A strong attention to detail while appreciating the bigger picture of the complex and ambitious projects that we take on.
- A desire to work hands-on with critical spaceflight hardware.
- Good interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - BS in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field preferred.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting mechanisms, electro-mechanical systems, or control systems preferred.
- Experience with scripting and programming and software configuration management systems preferred.
- Experience with spacecraft command and control systems, simulators, software test benches and other electrical ground support equipment preferred.
- Space or military experience preferred.
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $91500 - $113500

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
