Job description
Kennett Consolidated School District is seeking a dynamic leader for this 12-month position who will be an integral part of our Teaching and Learning Department; a leader who exhibits a belief in the importance of relationships and resiliency through a student-centered approach will be able to successfully support the district's mission and vision.

POSITION TITLE: Supervisor of Secondary Curriculum
REPORTS TO: Director of Teaching and Learning
PURPOSE: Supervise, observe, and evaluate teachers while providing instructional leadership throughout the secondary program.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required - Master's Degree with at least 5 years of teaching experience at secondary level
PA Certification - Principal K-12 or Supervisor certification
Preferred - Three years of secondary building level administrative experience
- Experience in curriculum design, development, and implementation at the district-level or a part of a district team.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: - Support teaching and learning initiatives including but not limited to MTSS, PLCs, STEELS, Literacy, Math and electives courses.
- Provide leadership to administrators in the development and implementation of school Balanced Scorecard initiatives. Support building staff members' efforts to implement these plans.
- Ensure congruence between the District's curriculum, instructional program, and assessment system, plus related staff development activities; and manage utilization of the assessment data warehousing software.
- Study, evaluate, and recommend adoption of new instructional materials, methods, programs, and formulate adoption budgets for instructional programs approved by the Board.
- Keep current of curriculum and technological developments and innovations by reviewing the literature, attending professional meetings and conferences, and discussing developments and problems with other educators.
- Act as liaison to, and active participant with educational leaders in curriculum and instruction at state, regional, and national levels.
- Attend Board/Committee meetings and prepare presentations as needed.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District Superintendent and/or his/her designee.
- Collaborates with the Director of Teaching and Learning to ensure KHS pathways program, including dual enrollment curriculum, is written and aligned with the curriculum cycle.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; and to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with other administrators, teachers, parents, students, governing board members, support staff, colleagues, and outside professional contacts.
- Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts, problem solving and logical reasoning
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
