RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and oversee the technical aspects of the DAIIS/IAS project, including server administration, application of security patches and STIGs, and system performance monitoring.
• Ensure the continuous and trouble-free operation of DAIIS IT functions, implementing mitigation strategies for any identified system or cybersecurity risks.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and serve as a primary point of contact for system administration-related issues and escalations within the DAIIS/IAS project scope.
• Ensure adherence to all DoD and Army regulations, project management methodologies, policies, and reporting requirements.
• Conduct system upgrades, COOP planning, and documentation maintenance in alignment with organizational goals and security standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Active TS/SCI clearance with SBI and the ability to attain SI, TK, G, HCS, and NATO Secret Clearance
• US Citizen
• Eight years of progressively responsible experience in server administration, including supporting and managing servers in a production environment
• Five years of experience identifying and analyzing server requirements; planning the design and deployment of new technologies and upgrades
• Five years of experience applying industry best practices on Windows Server 2016 and later operating systems encompassing configuration, implementation, and security
• Eight years of experience on server administration in Microsoft Windows environments, including MS Windows Server 2016 and later configuration to include performance monitoring, tuning, and making recommendations to improve overall system performance and application efficiency
• Four years of experience managing Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
• Three years of experience serving as a team leader working as both part of a team and independently to assign/review immediate tasks, set priorities, maintain task progress, validate team members work consistent with the organizational goals and deadlines
• Five years of experience mentoring junior personnel on proper practices and procedures

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or equivalent advanced certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, WVMware)
• Certifications in cybersecurity such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

TekSynap is seeking a Senior Microsoft System Administrator to join our team supporting the Department of the Army Intelligence Information Services / Intelligence Automation Support (DAIIS/IAS) project under the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). The Senior Microsoft System Administrator will be a key personnel member responsible for ensuring the robust and secure operation of DAIIS IT functions across multiple networks and platforms. This role demands a deep understanding of system administration, including server management, security compliance, system upgrades, and continuity planning within a Microsoft Windows-based infrastructure. As the Senior Microsoft System Administrator, you will oversee the technical, operational, and cybersecurity aspects of the system infrastructure, focusing on maintaining high availability, system integrity, and security in accordance with DoD and Army regulations. This includes managing Microsoft Windows Servers, applying security patches and STIGs, monitoring system performance, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of IT services. You will function as the primary point of escalation for any system-related issues within the DAIIS project. Your role necessitates availability during core hours as specified by the project requirements and schedule. Given the critical nature of the work, you may be required to work outside of normal hours, including Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed for administrative reasons. The Senior Microsoft System Administrator assumes full responsibility for all aspects of the work awarded under this contract, encompassing duties and responsibilities, management procedures, policies, and reporting requirements. Your expertise is paramount in maintaining operational excellence and ensuring the continuous availability and security of DAIIS IT services, ultimately supporting the U.S. Army's intelligence dissemination, data management, and knowledge management missions.

This position provides crucial support to the DAIIS/IAS project by ensuring the robust operation and security of Microsoft Windows-based server environments, addressing daily system checks, and applying industry best practices to maintain system integrity and performance. As a Senior Microsoft System Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in managing, maintaining, and securing critical IT infrastructure to support the U.S. Army's intelligence and security operations.

• Location: Multiple, including Headquarters (HQ) INSCOM (Ft. Belvoir, VA), contractor facilities, approved telework sites as per the Telework Plan, and potentially both within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) for training and customer support as required
• Type of environment: The work environment will vary based on location, ranging from office settings at HQ INSCOM or contractor facilities to remote telework settings, and potentially field environments when travel is required.
• Noise level: (Low, Medium, High) Low to Medium
• Work schedule: The core working hours are established by INSCOM as 0900 through 1500 local time, Monday through Friday. The contractor may allow employees to begin from 0600 through 0900. Full coverage is required from 0600 through 1600 for certain positions, including the Senior Microsoft System Administrator. Extended hours or weekend work may be necessary depending on mission requirements.
• Amount of Travel: Travel may be required up to 25% of the time for training and customer support, both CONUS and OCONUS. Travel requirements, including plans, agenda, itinerary, and dates, must be pre-approved by the Government. All travel will be in compliance with the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR). A valid U.S. unrestricted passport is required for OCONUS site support.
