Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Aquatic Biologist to join our team. As an Aquatic Biologist, you will play a crucial role in researching, studying, and conserving aquatic ecosystems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the preservation and sustainable management of aquatic environments while advancing scientific knowledge in the field. This is a hybrid position with 2-3 days remote per week.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct fieldwork to collect data on aquatic habitats, including water quality parameters, biodiversity, and ecological interactions.
2. Perform laboratory analyses on collected samples, such as water chemistry tests, species identification, and genetic analyses.
3. Design and execute research projects aimed at understanding the dynamics of aquatic ecosystems, including population dynamics, community structure, and habitat preferences.
4. Monitor and assess the impact of human activities on aquatic environments, including pollution, habitat destruction, and climate change.
5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop conservation strategies and management plans for aquatic resources.
6. Communicate research findings through scientific publications, presentations, and outreach activities to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
7. Provide expertise and guidance to government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private industries on issues related to aquatic biology and conservation.
8. Stay abreast of recent advancements and developments in aquatic biology through literature review, attendance at conferences, and participation in professional development activities.
9. Supervise and mentor junior staff, interns, and volunteers involved in aquatic research and monitoring projects.
10. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and ethical standards governing research and conservation activities.
