Job description

Job Summary

Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) is currently seeking an experienced oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Infusion and Acute Care APP team in Dallas, Texas.

The APP will function in infusion, with some coverage of Phase I Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) to manage infusion reactions, address lab abnormalities and provide anti-neoplastic patient education as needed. This position will also collaborate with Simmons Acute Care (SAC) to transfer patients with acute medical issues requiring additional evaluation and management. SAC provides outpatient care for the treatment of acute illnesses to established SCCC patients. The scope of SAC is to focus on acute medical problems related to cancer and/or cancer treatment. SAC provides healthcare services to patients who are receiving treatment for their cancer or have completed treatment in the last three months.

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm including weekends.

The Infusion APP will function primarily in infusion, with some coverage of Phase I Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a clinical environment.  The incumbent may be exposed to body fluids and infectious diseases. Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.
