Job description
Position Overview: The Controller will be responsible for providing financial, operational and administrative guidance and support to ensure the organization is meeting its goals and objectives. The Controller will be primarily responsible for managing the accounting and financial functions of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and develop financial strategies, objectives and plans that support the organizations mission and goals.
- Manage and oversee all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain internal control systems and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and organizational policies.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports and statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
- Develop and maintain accounting procedures and policies.
- Ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance in all areas of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and cash management.
- Implement and manage software applications for accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Perform tax compliance activities and procedures.
- Provide construction industry expertise and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA - strongly preferred
- Experience with Sage Timberline and/or QuickBooks
- Construction industry experience
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and AIA G702/G703 Applications
- Expertise in Quickbooks, Construction, and Accounting.
- Experience with payroll processing, cash management, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and trend analysis, audit management, and tax compliance
