PSYCHIATRIC TECHNICIAN
SITE OF SERVICE:
- Naval Branch Health Clinic Everett, Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA 98207
- Naval Hospital Bremerton and associated branch medical clinics within a 40 mile radius of their assigned MTF. HCWs shall receive notification 48 hours prior to reassignment.
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree : Certificate.
- Education : Possess ONE of the following:
- Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program;
OR
- Completion of an equivalent education and experience that meets the requirement of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians
OR
- Completion of education and experience as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States military and proof of having completed an Armed Forces course involving psychiatric technician training or civilian course from an accredited school in the care of behavioral health patients.
- Experience : Possess at least 1 year full time experience within the preceding 2 years as either a Psychiatric Technician or Mental Health Technician.
- Certification: Possess ONE of the following:
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Technician by the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians Level I
OR
- Evidence of completion of Military Psychiatric Technician Training
OR
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Social Work
- BLS certification through American Heart Association: must be hands on course
- U.S. Citizenship: HCWs performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.
- English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure that all HCWs providing services under this contract are able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
- HCW Physical Capability: HCWs shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.
- Complete and Pass competency based evaluations in accordance with Joint Commission standards.
- Upon employment complete facility and Department of Defense specific training
HOURS:
- Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600 and 1730 hours.
- The HCW shall be assigned either an 8.5-hour shift to include an uncompensated 30-minute meal break; or an 11 hour shift to include an uncompensated 1 hour meal break.
- In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per two-week period.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
