Job description
Job Title: Accountant
Location: REMOTE (with monthly travel) or HYRBID out of Milwaukee, WI (Third Ward)
Pay rate: $30-40/hour
Contract Length: 3-6 months, contract-to-hire

We're looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team as a founding Accountant. You'll be reporting directly to our CEO and you'll be in charge of all basic accounting functions for the business - including monthly close, bank/other reconciliations, payroll, and A/P processing.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and supplemental schedules to support the financials
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage and reconcile employee expenses and corporate credit cards
- Centralize payroll processing using our payroll system
- Assist with year-end close process
- Manage technical accounting questions and updates
- Work closely with the Sr. FP&A Manager in building out the next phase of the accounting systems to enhance organization-wide visibility and speed of reporting
Must-Have Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related
- 2+ years professional Accounting/Finance experience
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop
- Reporting experience (Excel, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of accounting procedures, principles and regulations
- Knowledge of US GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and B2B Business Model
Nice-to-have Skills/Experience
- Licensed CPA
- Start-up experience
- Experience working independently as the sole Accountant with little guidance
- Experience supporting a B2B businesses model
- Experience with multi-jurisdictional tax, internal controls, and compliance
- Experience utilizing a payroll system
