Job description

This position is 20 hrs/week, Monday-Friday 8am-12pm. It is a 9-month appointment, off for the summer, fall, and winter breaks.

Responsible for enforcement of parking policies and ordinance, including, but not limited to: parking meters,permit lots and other restricted parking areas on the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Campus.
Write citations for parking violations with written hand-held recorder.

May be called upon to report to the UMD Parking Advisory Board regarding contested parking citations. Reports damage or malfunctioning of parking meters to Supervisor .
Keep record of habitual violators.

Works with traffic control situations giving out information to the public regarding parking, building and department locations.
Explains parking ordinances to the public. Relieves parking attendant in the pay lot booth,may be used to cover a pay lot booth in certain situations.
The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.

Required Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent; experience in a position involving public contact. Must have a valid driver's license and sufficient driving experience to drive all types of automobiles. Some computer experience preferred.
