Marklund is seeking highly motivated and mission-centered individuals for the position of Respiratory Therapistat the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, IL. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements. We are hiring a full-time or part-time Respiratory Therapist at this time.

Who We Are:
Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Responsibilities include:
Directly cares for patients with needs requiring their clinical
expertise and evaluates respiratory care rendered by all team
members.
Administers prescribed respiratory medications and treatments in accordance with approved respiratory techniques.
Assists with care and activities of daily living of clients as required
Consistently updates and abides by the care plan for each client.
Initiates new plan of care when deemed necessary with new onset condition/diagnosis or change in condition.
Attends staffing’s and family meetings as needed and requested by the supervisor.
