Public Staff Auditor
Our long standing client seeks a staff auditor for their mid sized public accounting firm. As a Staff Auditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and compliance with regulatory standards. You will work within a dynamic team environment, assisting in audits, financial analysis, and advisory services for a diverse range of clients. Responsibilities:
- Perform audit procedures in accordance with established standards and guidelines to assess the accuracy of financial statements.
- Analyze financial data, transactions, and internal controls to identify potential risks, discrepancies, or irregularities.
- Evaluate client operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Prepare detailed workpapers, audit findings, and reports documenting audit procedures and conclusions.
- Interact professionally with clients to gather necessary information, address inquiries, and provide audit recommendations.
- Collaborate effectively with audit teams, including seniors, managers, and partners, to execute audit engagements efficiently and meet project deadlines.
- Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards, auditing regulations, and industry trends to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
- Participate in quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of audit excellence and client service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA certification or working towards CPA eligibility preferred.
- Previous experience in public accounting, auditing, or assurance services is advantageous, but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software and audit tools.
