Our Team
We have an exciting opportunity to join our amazing Procurement Team. The Procurement Manager is a critical strategic leadership role for sourcing and transactional buying including the planning, scheduling, negotiating, and purchase of materials, services, and equipment in support of multi business units. The role will manage a team of 8+ and set directionfor Procurement inmaterials, services, and/or facilities.
The role can be based out of Manchester, NH, Westwood, MA, or Berlin, CT
Essential Functions
- Champions strategic sourcing practices throughout the company by building strategic working relationships.
- Develops, implementspolicy/procedures/systemrequirements for materials, supplies, equipment, services, and major projects to achieve lowest total cost of ownership as well as mitigate risk for the corporation by establishing strategic sourcing teams.
- Reviews buyer analysis of market conditions and system requirements and determines timing of major procurement actions in consultation with internal requesters.
- Advises the user of Procurement tools (Ariba, Maximo, Oracle) and opportunities in the markets for their business.
- Manages and reviews strategic sourcing events, bidding and contract award process follow corporate policies and procedures and are in alignment with strategic sourcing practices.
- Provides direction for the performance of supplier evaluations.
- Oversees the preparation of reports on procurement activities, including purchase orders, purchase contract negotiations, price quotations, vendor catalogs, aging of material requests, cost savings and avoidances reports, supplier diversity spend and vendor performance.
- Assures the maintenance of procurement general files/documentation comply with corporate policies and procedures.
- Approves purchase orders, invoices, and other commercial procurement documents as appropriate.
- Coordinates and manages the investigation of and reporting on the satisfactory settlement of complaints with respect to the purchase of materials and supplies, services, and equipment.
- Develops, evaluates, and makes recommendations for changes in or additions to, existing policies, practices, technology enhancements, and procedures. Assures compliance with such standards.
- Recommends and oversees the training programs for procurement personnel to develop and enhance job skills and stimulate career growth opportunities. Provides routine feedback to employees on performance.
- Conducts benchmarking to continuously improve performance.
- Drives supplier diversity program (minority and woman owned); use of sustainable environmentally preferred products; and adherence to Eversource’s safety standards in the areas serviced.
Technical Knowledge/Skills
- Thorough knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code
- Thorough knowledge of latest supply chain/procurement techniques
- Knowledge about electric and gas distribution commodities, services, markets and related industry/company specific standards, general business, and technology oriented (hardware, software, telecommunications) services commodities, services, and markets, major construction projects as well as engineering specification development, contract strategy, compliance auditing, risks and insurance matters, and contract wording to support requirements.

- Extensive resourcefulness to anticipate, define and direct solutions to complex procurement issues

- Strong functional understanding of computerized business systems
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Applied Sciences or the equivalent discipline or related experience. A Master’s degree in management or business is highly desired.
Experience
- 10+ years related experience required which includes managerial, supervisory and/or team leadership experience.
Licenses & Certifications
- Six Sigma or similar certification preferred
Compensation and Benefits
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position starts at $138,260.00 to $153,620.00 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
