WSP is currently initiating a search for an Experienced Geologist or Environmental Scientist for our Chelmsford, Massachusetts office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

We are seeking a motivated candidate who is willing to learn and join our current multi-disciplinary team in executing technically challenging site investigation and remediation projects for a wide range of clients throughout the Northeast.

Your Impact

This position involves the implementation of project work associated with multimedia (air, water, soil, and biota) investigations and remediation. The selected candidate needs to be a self-starter, open to learn, adaptable to change, have a strong work ethic, and thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.

This position offers the opportunity to learn from and grow with an established team and to address complex environmental challenges by executing the following roles/responsibilities:

  1. Lead teams performing environmental sampling (e.g., surface water, groundwater, soil, sediment, soil vapor, indoor air) and oversee subcontractors in the field (e.g., drillers) and ensure proper procedures are used to complete and document filed activities and observations.

  2. Perform professional environmental science work and conduct investigations, inspections, and environmental studies and surveys to gain further information on a particular environmental problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future environmental needs.

  3. Assist with environmental site assessments (ASTM Phase I and II).

  4. Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.

  5. Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations to address, prevent, control, or restore environmental problems.

  6. Assist with development, scoping, and budgeting of tasks and projects.

  7. Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).

  8. Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.

  9. Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.

  10. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  11. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
