Overview
The Product Manager helps manage the company’s portfolio of products by analyzing customer behaviors and feedback, technology trends, sales behaviors, support issues, competitive analyses and product usage patterns to support and inform the department’s recommendations that will guide the organization in current and future product needs. Is responsible for many aspects of the product launch process and product life cycle, as well as assigned product training, marketing, day-to-day advanced support, and planning needs. Manages product management regulatory compliance activities for assigned topics and subjects as assigned, including supporting internal and external auditing procedures. This position is visible across the organization, requires flexibility and strict attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This position is based in Somerset, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Understands and analyzes competitive market environment and acts to position Oticon as the preferred supplier
- Supports budgeting for assigned projects
- Interacts cross-departmentally with key business functions to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction (issue resolution, process/product optimization, etc.)
- Assists in tracking and analyzing growth, supply issues, quality issues and provides regular feedback of product portfolio performance to PM leadership to inform recommendations for optimization/improvement
- Supports development of training materials for internal customers in collaboration with L&D, and assists with initial product training for staff where subject matter expertise is required
- Works with B2B, Digital, Consumer, and Creative Services management to develop or support marketing materials, tools, and promotional campaigns
- Interfaces with colleagues at global headquarters (Denmark) for collaboration on relevant projects and with customers and sales staff via field travel and major meetings to determine market needs
- Assists with management of regulatory compliance needs including participation in auditing procedures and serves as a subject matter expert for assigned topics
- Implements and coordinates product introductions into the marketplace
- Performs miscellaneous tasks/projects as directed by manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in science, marketing, or business). Au.D./M.A. in Audiology or MBA with relevant experience preferred.
- 2 years of experience in medical devices or hearing healthcare marketing/sales, with product/project management experience preferred.
- Experience handling business/portfolio planning, tactical implementation, as well as commercialization processes in both B2B and branded environments preferred.
- Product Management experience preferred. Experience developing product marketing and training materials is preferred. Product-related software or apps a plus.
- Self-starter and collaborative team player; self-motivated with a positive and creative approach to solving problems. Demonstrated business maturity in areas of decision-making and conflict resolution.
- Strong collaboration skills, proven team player.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes. Strict attention to detail.
- High performing, motivated self-starter with proven ability to work both independently as well as a member of high-performance teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong writing, verbal, editing, presentation and overall communication skills.
- Up to 10% domestic and international travel.
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite.
