Patient Centered - Employee Centered - Client Centered
We are thrilled to say that we are growing, and with that comes an opportunity for a new position. We are looking for an Athletic Trainer to work in one of our local High School partners in the Wentzville area.
Essential Job Functions include:
- Develop plans for providing Athletic Training coverage at area high school with around 500-600 student/athletes.
- Establish and maintain a budget for athletic training supplies/equipment in association with Athletic Director.
- Establish and execute daily hours of operation for Athletic Training facility.
- Develop and regularly review emergency action plans for venues and facilities.
- Establish a working relationship with designated team physician and community physicians.
- Establish a working relationship with school nursing staff.
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from students / athletes.
- Maintain adequate medical records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures.
- Comply with any and all policies regarding health care delivery as indicated by the school district regulations.
- Develop coach's professional development for CPR/AED, concussion, heat illness, sudden cardiac death, and sickle cell.
Experience Required includes:
- Must have knowledge about a wide range of medical problems and the ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisions per state licensure guidelines.
- Must be thorough and detailed with injury tracking and documentation.
- Effective communication skills in high stress/pressure situations when talking to patients, medical professionals, staff, and families.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people.
Qualification Required include:
- Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from an accredited College/University, Master's degree preferred, but not required
- Certification as an Athletic Trainer from National Athletic Training Association
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Efficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and EMR programs
Work Environment:
- Clinical and /or outreach Athletic Training settings
- Must be able to work in an outdoor environment
- Frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects up to 100 pounds
- Assisting athletes on/off playing surface or treatment table
- Flexibility and able to adapt to odd hours and some travel required
