Job description
The CMMS/IT Manager position supports the Follow-on Technical Support (FOTS) Program for the Egyptian Navy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) being utilized by the Egyptian Navy and our In-Country Team (ICT) in support of ship maintenance, repair and overall. The role also oversees a team of subcontracts managing both the company and EN IT systems and networks. TheCMMS software being used is a customized version of American Bureau of Ships Nautical Systems NS5 Fleet Management Software suit. The technical responsibilities include administration of on-premises and cloud-based server operating systems and application platforms; system and network design and implementation; system and application patching, hardening, and maintenance; customer service and support; account and access control management; hardware and software diagnosis; repair of end user devices, servers, and network components.
The leadership responsibilities include leading the in-country Egypt IT Support Team comprised of systems & network engineers, applications operations, and service desk support. Leads with independence and resourcefulness; serves as a knowledge resource and mentor for others and is responsible for continuously developing their skills and abilities. Aptitude for new computer technology; maintain cooperative working relationships; and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse employee population. Reports to the In-Country Manager – Egypt.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Maintaining the CMMS Database
- Providing training on the CMMS system to both EN personnel and the in-country team.
- Provide comprehensive designs to address the company’s strategic direction for physical and virtual server platforms; evaluate emerging technologies; implement systems/architectures based on best practices; ensure system integrity with regards to security and compliance guidelines.
- Support and maintain incumbent technology systems and services. Develop maintenance and update plans. Identify design, implementation, and operational problems of technology systems; develop solutions to improve the operations, reliability, and integrity of systems.
- Work closely with application operations teams in implementation of infrastructure components supporting updates to existing technologies and the implementation of emerging technologies and applications.
- Respond to issue escalation and service interruption as a confident technical leader. Assume technical leadership role and accountability in problem resolution and root cause analysis. Provide actionable after-incident analysis to ensure root-cause issues are logged and remediated. Utilize the incident management system to document and communicate all issues and their resolution.
- Develop activity plans, time and resource estimates and cost benefit analyses for planned activities. Ensure that changes and enhancements are carried out properly, via documented change control processes, and on a timely basis. Manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Prepare activity and progress reports for projects ensuring issues are properly escalated and resolved to maintain delivery schedule, project cost, and desired results.
- Maintain clear and efficient communications with management and customers. Prepare presentations on technical subject matter for leadership decisions and knowledge sharing. Provide guidance and mentoring to peers and junior staff.
- Maintain effective external relationships with vendors, consultants, and service providers; leverage these relationships to ensure that the best fit solutions and resources are available.
- Operate systems with elevated privileges required for sensitive tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology; Associates Degree in Information Technology, or a related discipline + 4 years’ experience in similar position(s); 8 years’ demonstrated experience in similar position(s) in lieu of Degree.
- 3 years of experience with ABS NS5/NS Enterprise Fleet Management Software
- Broad technical computing background in server hardware and operating systems such as the current Windows versions; extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and other foundational infrastructure services. Ability to stand up fully functional new AD domains and integration of acquired AD domains will be required.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure including Microsoft Azure and Office 365.
- Experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experience in TCP/IP, VLAN segmentation, network traffic capture and analysis.
- Knowledge of SAN / NAS concepts and usage including iSCSI, FC, LUNs, and data replication.
- Experience with establishing SLAs with a background in service delivery and service support processes.
- Demonstrated experience with Active Directory, PowerShell scripting, Office 365 Exchange support, and fundamentals of systems administration.
- Excellent verbal and written skills are required.
- The ability to function with little supervision under tight deadlines is required.
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, demonstrate initiative to advance the IT departments’ mission, and to advance professionally into increasingly responsible roles.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must possess and demonstrate leadership skills and abilities.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and background screening
- Must have a valid passport that will not expire for at least 2 years after being hired.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Country Clearance and Base Access while in Egypt.
- In compliance with Executive Order 14042
- The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous overseas work experience.
- 5+ years in technical leadership role with mentoring responsibility.
- Basic understanding of Arabic (speaking and listening) is a plus.
CLEARANCE:
- US Citizenship required with ability to obtain Security clearance
