Position Summary/Description:
This position will supervise the maintenance of the distribution and stand-alone systems for Chilled Water. To include, maintenance, repair, testing, operation, performance, special projects, documentation and training for the Central Chilled Water Distribution System and Stand-Alone Chillers.
This position will determine staffing levels and division of responsibility among the positions under supervision. It will set work schedules for regular shift, call-back/on-call, other necessary work requirements outside normal business hours while taking into consideration planned leave among staff. To include, setting work schedules for regular shift, call-back/on-call, necessary work requirements outside normal business hours, management of planned leave among staff, performance management (evaluations and performance plans), reconciliation of worked time in the TIM (Time Information Management) System. This position will participate in developing training programs, policy and procedures related to area of responsibility. It will ensure all employees receive both equipment and safety training. This position will perform a variety of administrative duties to include purchasing, planning and budget input. In consultation with the Maintenance Superintendent, will review service contracts, analyze proposals and contracts, supervise work performed by contractors, and approves invoices for work performed by same. Additionally, this position will supervise other maintenance areas when requested to do so by the Maintenance Superintendent.Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and four years of experience in applicable Utility operations, of which one year is supervisory; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires certification(s).
